Student / Program Coordinator (Residential)
International Summer School, New Delhi (ISS) | 2026

This role is structured as an apprenticeship. Candidates who demonstrate initiative and fit during the program will be considered for future opportunities with the organization.

Duration

27 June to 25 July 2026 (approximately four weeks, including two days of pre-program orientation).

Location

Delhi-based. The Program Coordinator is required to reside at the student accommodation for the duration of the engagement.

Compensation and Benefits

Accommodation is provided. Breakfast and weekday lunches are included alongside the student cohort. Dinners and weekend meals are at the coordinator's own discretion, with plenty to explore in the city.

One month's local phone bill will be reimbursed, excluding international calls and roaming.

Candidates based outside Delhi are welcome to apply and are expected to arrange their own travel to and from the city.

Purpose

The Program Coordinator serves as the primary on-ground support person for ISS participants during the four-week academic session. They work closely with ISS program staff to ensure the day-to-day experience runs smoothly, safely, and in keeping with the program's academic and cultural objectives.

Responsibilities

Student Welfare and Residential Life

Act as the first point of contact for student concerns, queries, and emergencies in the residence. Foster a cohesive, respectful living environment across a culturally diverse cohort. Maintain open communication with ISS staff on student wellbeing.

Program Logistics

Accompany students to and from academic sessions, field visits, and cultural excursions as required. Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and coordination of daily program activities. Support faculty and guest speakers in session preparation and venue management.

Orientation and Integration

Lead or co-lead arrival orientation, including city familiarization, safety briefings, and program introductions. Help students navigate life in Delhi, including practical guidance on transport, health, and cultural norms. Familiarity with platforms like Blinkit, Swiggy, and Zomato, and a working knowledge of how to get around the city, would be a genuine advantage in supporting students day-to-day.

Administrative Support

Maintain records as directed by program management. Assist with participant communications, documentation, and feedback collection. Support preparation and wrap-up for program events.

Documentation, Communications, and Publications

Photograph and document program activities, field visits, cultural events, and student life for use across ISS communications and social media channels.

Coordinate a rotating student content series, where participants from different countries informally document a day in the program from their own perspective. This may include short videos, photo sets, or written reflections. The coordinator is responsible for logistics, participant briefing, and light editorial review before content is shared.

Support the student-led magazine Bridges by gathering relevant articles, data, and information during the program. This includes identifying student contributors, collecting written pieces or interviews, and channeling material to the editorial team.

Emergency and Safety

The Program Coordinator is the first point of contact for student emergencies outside of program hours. They are expected to be familiar with ISS emergency protocols, maintain contact details for program staff and relevant local services, and escalate issues promptly and appropriately.

Professional Conduct and Boundaries

The coordinator lives alongside participants and will naturally build close working relationships with students. They are expected to maintain a professional boundary at all times, acting in the interest of the program and the wellbeing of the cohort. Any concerns about student welfare or conduct should be reported to ISS program staff without delay.

End-of-Program Responsibilities

In the final days of the academic session, the coordinator will support student departures, assist with feedback and evaluation collection, and help close out any outstanding program logistics before their academic engagement concludes on 24 July.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The role demands flexibility, discretion, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
